NEW ROADS — The Pointe Coupee Police Jury on Tuesday approved a plan designed to serve as an outline for parish growth over the next 20 to 30 years. The 65-page document, written by parish officials and Fregonese Associates of Portland, Ore., was three years in the making.

The document attempts to reconcile a broad swath of ideas expressed in three public workshops and 10 meetings held by the Pointe Coupee Support Committee, said Jimmy Lyles, the parish’s comprehensive plan manager.
